Vintage Charlie

Vintage Charlie ... Jan 2005 ... we had a series of pictures taken with old vintage clothes. Had to buy them all, they were all so darn cute.

I did this layout for Bloomin' Easy Templates with Carena challenge at Digital Scrap Garden. You should stop by and grab this neat template and join in the fun. I used Ethan by Carena's Designs to do the challenge available at Digital Scrap Garden.

From April 2004

Looking through pictures and decided I just needed to scrap this one. I have so many that still need scrapping. Love it!

Sunday Afternoon

Sunday afternoon Charlie was climbing around on his dad's pickup while he dad was taking down a shed that was in my backyard that used to be used for my miniature horses' shelter. They live in the pasture right behind the house now rather in my backyard, so it was way past time for the shed to come down.

Fresh Start

I've felt some nudging to update my blog. LOL So, guess I best get to it. First before I show you something really pretty, I have to belly ache about the fact that my corner of the world has not had any appreciable rain since late last spring. We so need some real good soaking rain.

Now let me show you what Traci has created. Fresh Start will brighten up any layout. It is fresh, full of spring and fun! Fresh Start from Horsedreamn Designs by Traci is available at Digital Garden.

This is the little sister of one of Charlie's friends, Jayden.

Here is one of "those moments" I captured a few days ago.

One of the beautiful moments in nature.

New Skills

Charlie has learned how to stand up and pump on his bike. He is very proud of himself.

I did both of these layouts using Carena's newest kit, Ethan. It is a fantastic kit for young boys, big boys, and so much more. You'll find it at Digital Scrap Garden.

RAKed by Jennifer Barrette

Charlie climbed in Jack's crate, Jack followed him in and I grabbed the camera.
The quote is by Robert Benchley ... "A dog teaches a boy fidelity, perseverance, and to turn around three times before lying down."

Thank you, Jennifer. Love this kit!

His Expression

I just love the expression on Charlie's face. I did this one for a contest at Gotta Pixel.

Down and Dirty

This one was done for a template/element challenge by ScrapShana at Scrap Dish.

I used ScrapShana's Down and Dirty available at Scrap Dish and at Digiscrapaganza.

Way Behind

I'm a bit behind and I have a few layouts I'd like to share. So, I'm doing them one at a time, because I tend to get lost if I try to put them all in one long blog. LOL

There is a challenge called Scrap With This, Will Ya? going on over at Digital Scrap Garden where we are sharing photos and Ladybug chooses a couple each week and then we pick one and scrap it. It is really fun to scrap with subjects different from the ones you normally scrap.

Charlie was watching when I opened up this cute picture of Madeline. She is the granddaughter of my good scrapping friend, Elaine. He had a bunch of questions and then wanted to know if he could scrap her. I let him. He picked and placed all the elements. I think he did a really good job. We both had a blast.
This was done using the December Daily Petals by Karen Wallace at Digital Scrap Garden.

Bee Mine

Tami Savoie has done it again with soft colors, a little glitter and some fun friends make up my version of a Valentine's kit! Bee Mine is available at Digiscrapaganza. Love the name ... Bee Mine.

This is a 2nd cousins of Charlie's at her wedding and her grandfather.

And here the bridesmaids are making over Charlie. But Charlie was in love with the bride that day.

Basketball

If you have never seen 6 year olds play an organized game of basketball, you don't know what you are missing. This was Charlie's second game. I missed the first one. They are so fun to watch. They are quickly learning that it is "good" to pass the ball to someone else on their team and not hog the ball even if they are not open to make a shot. The funny part is that they haven't completely figured out that they should not block their own teammate. At this level, the refs don't hardly call anything. As long as they don't just tuck the ball under their arm and run with it and are trying to dribble/or just bounce the ball a little there is no traveling called. The game is fast and they do not stop the clock for anything. I'm smiling just thinking about it. Sad to say, the lighting in the buidling was not good enough to get good pictures with my camera. So, I have a couple of bad pictures to share. LOL

Charlie's team won a big 14 - 4.

I was tickled with myself when I found a new way to make something for my layouts. The large ball on the background was created from a square piece of paper in Tami's Nana's Boy. It is available at Digiscrapaganza. I use PSP2X. I selected the whole paper, then applied "Effects / Geormetric effects / Circle". I laugh at myself when I discover something like this and wonder why I never did that before.

Here is the preview of this wonderful kit that Tami made. I can't believe I had not put this on my blog, yet. Shame on me! Tami made this kit for me and Charlie and surprised me with the name which I happen to just LOVE! Nana's Boy! It is the perfect kit for scrapping a young active boy and I love ya' Tami for doing this kit!

As I said before, this is available at Digiscrapaganza.

Mad About You

ScrapShana has this wonderful new kit, Mad About You available at Digiscrapganza. It is beautiful and elegant and will be great for scrapping everyone ... family members, friends and your pets, too. Beautiful deep reds with black and white that make wonderful contrast.

I've done 3 different layouts already using this lovely kit ... Mad About You.

1959 was a very good year. High school senior, graudation, engaged to my best friend, 5 months in business school (away from home and on my own), then married on Christmas Eve and was moved to Connecticut before the end of the year.

Lunch with Charlie

Leslie and I took Charlie to school together this morning. Then we both got our hair cut and we just messed around together until 11:30 when we went back to Charlie's school and had lunch with him. We got take-out at Bill Miller's (a BBQ/Fried Chicken place) and took an order for Charlie, too. He knew we were coming and was so proud that we were there. It was really fun, but geez, those little chairs are close to the floor. LOL

I have another layout I want to share I did using Outside the Box from Horsedreamn Designs by Traci ... A Year in Review. One picture from each month from 2008. It shows a lot of firsts for Charlie.

New Templates by Tami

Tami Savoie has a great new set of templates out she calls Seeing Spots. I had a great time working with them.

I've already shown you one of my layouts using these templates. It was the where I am taking pictures of Charlie taking pictures. Here are a couple more.

RAKed by Carjazi Designs

LOOK what I found in my mailbox this morning! I was so very pleased to find this RAK from Carjazi Designs ... Zach's PJs. It is available at Digital Scrap Gardens.

Thank you, Diane
These papers are great for making layouts of my Charlie like this one. He got a kids camera for his birthday and he was out taking pictures yesterday morning. He came and got me to come out with him, so I took pictures of him taking pictures. Have to love it when your grandson lives right next door!

Birthday Supper

The party was Saturday, but we celebrated the real day Sunday with Charlie's favorite meal, chicken and rice casserole, and he got his presents from Mommy and Daddy and from Nana and Grandaddy.
The big surprise was the Mouse Trap game. He is saying, "MOUSE TRAP! I asked for this for Christmas, but I didn't get it".

Then the fun was Mommy reading the directions as every helped assemble it.

It took a while to get all the pieces in place and you can tell by the expression on his face that we finally got it to work.
Then it was all taken down and we all played the game. Lots of fun!

Party Pictures

Here are just a few of the many, many pictures I took yesterday at Charlie's birthday party. Yes, I am always a little wild with my camera at events like this. They call me the Nanarazzi.

First picture is Charlie and a friend shooting foam balls from a cannon.

Charlie waited in line for quite a while to get his turn on this bungy trampoline thing. Have to get weighed first.

The face tells it ALL!

They had pizza and then it was time for cake.

Then presents.

Then back to the games. Look at that face. He was so into it.

Then outside to the parachute drop. And it was way, way high.

I have so much scrapping to do. LOL
